I was watching this when the guest mentioned how anti--two-state-solution the Israelis are. That reminded me of shylock. IIRC, he was rabidly against it. Is that right, he was a one-stater?

I watch Jimmy Dore a LOT (we even saw one of his comedy shows a few years ago locally) but he's primarily a comedian and I don't trust a lot of his guests. He doesn't get first tier guests the way Tucker, et al does and he falls for a lot of conspiracies.

My third hand remote understanding of the two state solution deal is that basically: each side wants everything, all associated territory, without limitation, and each side wants the other side destroyed. Whenever I read a discussion or see a debate it always devolves down to these essential points.

Also, there is the question of negotiation. Gaza's population isn't actually a country - the Palestinians are free floating stateless Arabs, and has nothing like an authoritative chain of command. The closest to this role is Hamas and they are basically terrorists who will lie like crazy (just as Israelis will lie to them).

A Palestinian State Would Just Be A Staging Ground For War

The conversation around a two-state solution goes something like this:

Israel: We don't want Palestine to have a military. We want some control over police for counter-terrorism. This is an understandable request, given the history.

Palestinians: NO NO NO! If we get a Palestinian State, we want to do everything that every other government gets. That includes a military and control of police.

Israel: Why do you need control of police and military?

Palestinians: We need control of police, so we can look the other way when people plot terrorism against Israel. We want control of military, so we can build up our forces and someday start a war with Israel and win!

Israel: ....

Palestinians: Why is Israel oppressing us?

Given what happened with Hamas and Gaza, there is nearly zero support in Israel for turning the West Bank into another terrorist base like Gaza.

A two state solution will never work. There is too much bad blood between Israel and the "Palestinians". They are sick, brainwashed people that hate Israel with a vengeance. There will never be peace if they continue to live next to each other.

It'll be interesting to see the effect of Iran not paying Hamas to control Gaza. Also, what effect the Abraham Accords will have across the ME. The last thing I heard about Gaza is that Israel will be in control of it for awhile and a coalition of Arab nations will keep the peace there. I guess we'll see how that works out for now.
